Welcome to Lakeview Private Kindergarten. We hope you enjoy your time with us here. I look forward to getting to know your children and family and delivering a quality education and care service to you all, with a happy and fun atmosphere. My husband Adrian and I have 3 children, Lachie aged 13 and Sasha, aged 9 and Chloe, 6 years. As a family we place a high value on the importance of family and friends and having quality time together. We spend a lot of time outdoors, doing activities as a family, plus are keen sailors.

My education background is in primary schools and in 2010 retrained in Early Childhood Education. In between I spent 15 years in the corporate world, specialising in Human Resources, recruitment, adult training and development. I have now beenable to combine my two passions, education and management into one venture in order to be able to own and manage my own childcare centre.

Tracey London - Centre Manager

Bachelor of Education, Diploma of Teaching ECE, Full Registration

Kia Ora! Welcome to Lakeview Private Kindergarten.

Originally from Pakuranga, I made the move to the North Shore in 1999 after completing my  ECE

degree at Auckland University. Children are my absolute passion and over the last 20 years I have had the pleasure of working as a Nanny and in various teaching and management roles in the Early Childhood sector.

I am married and am a Mum to two extremely active boys, born in 2005 and 2010.

We live on the beautiful Hibiscus Coast and as a family our lives are very much centred around the outdoors and the beaches surrounding us.

I joined the Lakeview team in 2006. I adore working in partnership with our fabulous families and sharing in each child's special learning journey.

Fleur Miller - Assisant Supervisor

Diploma of Teaching ECE, Full Registration

Master of Specialist Teaching - Early Intervention Endorsement

Kia Ora. From a very young age I always knew that I wanted to teach. I have taught since 2001 in a number of centres similar to Lakeview with children aged two years of age until school age. Teaching for me is inspiring -  each day brings something new. It is rewarding to watch a child, each with their own ability and interests, and their family grow and develop. I am passionate about being an active part of the child's learning journey. I believe family and the community are an important part of the child's learning. I believe all children work best in a socio-cultural environment that is meaningful and empowers them to be the best that they can be. I want to encourage each child to be confident, competent and capable because with these skills they can conquer the world! My life outside of Kindy revolves around my family. I enjoy travelling around NZ and Australia with my partner.

Nicki Gibbes - Teacher

Bachelor of Teaching (ECE), Full Registration

My name is Nicki, I am married with three wonderful children, two boys and one girl. I am a qualified and fully registered Early Childhood Teacher with a passion to see young children develop into life long learners.

Recognising this passion early on, my career began straight out of high school. After being at the same centre for 16 years, I had the opportunity to work as a Visiting Teacher in a home-based education service, supporting nannies and educators. This was a really rewarding experience, however I missed the centre environment and having consistent interactions with children, seeing their learning blossom from day to day.

I believe that as teachers we are not only preparing children for school but for life, with dispositions and an attitude open to growing and learning. This begins at infancy through secure and respectful relationships and development of foundation skills.

I am excited about having joined the Lakeview Team and cannot wait to support your children on their learning journey.

Outside of the teaching, I value spending my time with my family. We all enjoy taking the dog to the beach or finding new parks or bush walks to explore around Auckland.

Caitlin Dwen - Teacher

Student Teacher, In Training

Hi, my name is Caitlin Dwen. My husband and I have been married since February 2017, he works as a blocklayer and we have two beautiful children, Lacey - aged 3 and Luca - aged 7. I'm currently in my second year of study towards a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) through NZTC and have been working with children for over 5 years now. My passion for ECE and working with children started at a young age, and I always knew this was the career I would pursue. I believe in fostering strong, responsive and reciprocal relationships with children helps them to gain social competency skills and confidence in their own abilities to give them a strong disposition towards their own learning. I believe everyone, teachers and children alike, bring valuable knowledge from their own experiences to share and I can't wait to see what each child at Lakeview has to teach me!

Sara Lee - Teacher

Diploma of Teaching ECE, Provisional Registration

Originally from Korea I moved to New Zealand with my family when I was nine, and have been living on the Shore since. After graduating with a degree in Economics and Politics I decided to work as a reliever in childcare centres because I always loved children’s company. I found great pleasure and passion for children and their learning and have recently completed my Graduate Diploma in Teaching. During my study I was a student teacher at Lakeview, so I am very excited to join the wonderful team. What I love about being a teacher is learning alongside children everyday making new discoveries, and believe that children communicate and express themselves through hundred languages. In my spare time I enjoy travelling with family and friends around New Zealand and the world.

Chloe Bosworth - Teacher

Bachelor of Arts (Psychology & Sociology) Graduate Diploma in ECE, Provisional Registration

Kia Ora all!

My name is Chloe, I am originally from the UK and moved to the shore with my family in 2004.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology as well as a Graduate Diploma in ECE which I completed in 2018 while working at an early learning centre in St Lukes.

I have always known from a young age that I wanted to be a teacher. This affirmed when I started to work as a swimming teacher for pre-school children at the age of 15.

It's a privilege to work alongside each child everyday, as they add to and move along their learning journey.

On a personal note, I live locally with my partner and love exploring the outdoors and keeping fit. I also enjoy travelling and learning about different cultures.

Anthea MacKenzie - Teacher

Student Teacher, In Training

Hi, my name is Anthea!   I thoroughly enjoy teaching and working with and alongside children. I have three years experience teaching young children while currently studying my degree in ECE teaching. I am very passionate about encouraging children to learn through play, I especially love engaging with them in messy play, anything arts and crafts, music and dance. I love being outdoors and am drawn to the ideology that children can learn many valuable life-long skills through their natural surroundings and therefore, value the environment as a third teacher. I believe it is important to acknowledge that each child as an individual with different strengths, interests and skills. I value a warm, nurturing, fun, friendly, happy and safe environment for our children to grow and exceed to the best of their ability. One of my favorite things in the early childhood setting is ‘capturing a moment’ where I observe a learning experience taking place and watch on as the children make connections and start to understand new concepts. I value the importance of forming meaningful relationships with parent and child and therefore promote quality communication for everyone. I believe in practicing a respectful and engaging teaching/learning model environment to empower children to succeed in their learning journey. I enjoy spending time with family, friends and my black and white cat ‘Nacho’ who is very affectionate and always loves pats! I love to read, surf, hike, dance, swim, play my guitar and sing in my free time. Lovely to meet you!

Catherine Hamlin - Phonics Teacher

Diploma Primary, Full Registration

I have been here at Lakeview since 2003 and teach the phonics, reading and writing programme to the 4 year olds. I love what I do and get enormous pleasure out of seeing the children go off to school with confidence and a bit of a head-start.

I’ve had many years teaching experience in schools, but I prefer the fun of small groups here at Lakeview.

On a personal note, I have two adult daughters who I raised on my own after my husband passed away suddenly, when they were young.

I think Lakeview Kindergarten is a great early childhood centre where the children are challenged and the standards are high for behaviour and education.
