Graduate Diploma ECE, Full Registration.

Welcome to Lakeview Private Kindergarten. We hope you enjoy your time with us here. I look forward to getting to know your children and family and delivering a quality education and care service to you all, with a happy and fun atmosphere. My husband Adrian and I have 3 children, Lachie aged 6 and Sasha, aged 3 and Chloe, 6 months. As a family we place a high value on the importance of family and friends and having quality time together. We spend a lot of time outdoors, doing activities as a family, plus are keen sailors.

My education background is in primary schools and I have lately retrained in Early Childhood Education. In between I spent 15 years in the corporate world, specialising in Human Resources, recruitment, adult training and development. I have over the past few years decided to combine my two passions, education and management into one venture in order to be able to own and manage my own childcare centre.

Welcome to Lakeview Kindergarten. I have worked in the early childhood industry for 10 years and have been the Supervisor of Lakeview for the past 5 years.

I am married and have two teenage girls, Carina 19 and Ashlee 16. My life after kindy is my family and my extended family is very special to me.

I have always had a very strong passion for children. I love the way they learn through play and through their peers.

Emma Wigg - Assisant Supervisor

Bachelor of Education, Full Registration

I live in Glenfield with my fiance Anthony and fluffy cat Oscar. In the summer we enjoy getting out of Auckland and heading to our family holiday home on the Coromandel.

I studied Early Childhood education straight from school as I always knew from a young age that I wanted to be a teacher. I enjoy working with children and get great delight from watching children grow and develop.

Kia Ora, my name is Lynn Wigg. I am very excited to be teaching at Lakeview. After travelling and working in an office environment most of my working life, I have now become a teacher, fulfilling a long time passion.

I have lived for over 20 years on the North Shore. I am married to David and have two grown up children, Emma you all know and Michael who is in his twenties.

I am really looking forward to getting to know you all and working with your children, supporting their learning and development.

I have worked at Lakeview since October 2007. I am married with three children, a 21 year old daughter studying architecture at Auckland University and two sons aged 18 and 13. I have 10 years early childhood experience and worked at a toddler centre for 5 years prior to coming here as well as many years as a volunteer at public kindergarten.

I love working with children, especially doing art activities. I am a keen supporter of North Harbour Softball as both my sons are rep players. I also love walking my two dogs on the beach and bushwalking.

Greetings, I am very excited to be teaching at Lakeview where I am looking forward to working alongside children and their families in the early years of learning.

I have a passion working with young children in their development and learning as they are exciting and no two days are the same. My personal interests include the outdoors, sports and family. I have worked in a variety of early childhood centres over the last four years and have recently finished my Early Childhood degree.

I am looking forward to learning more everyday and enjoying the professional challenges and fun of working with children.

Tracey Mills - Teacher

Bachelor of Education, Diploma of Teaching ECE, Full Registration

Originally from Farm Cove Pakuranga, I made the move to Devonport mid 1999. I spent the next 7 years working in Mt Eden, with 4 years as the Head Teacher. I left to have my first son who was born in 2005.

I decided that my part time work needed to be closer to home and was lucky enough to be offered a position here at Lakeview at the end of 2006. I left to have my second son in May 2010. Children are my absolute passion and I have worked in a variety of centres relieving and as a Nanny.

I am so excited to be working in our fabulous centre and look forward to lots of learning and loads of fun! I now live in Bayview, Glenfield – a fabulous community which I adore. I am very family orientated and when I am not working I can be found on the side of a soccer field, setting up a Mainly Music hall, baking, at the Gym, or reading a good book!

Catherine Hamlin - Phonics Teacher

Diploma Primary, Full Registration

I have been here at Lakeview since 2003 and teach the phonics, reading and writing programme to the 4 year olds who are ready for it. I love what I do and get enormous pleasure out of seeing your children learn and then go off to school with confidence and a bit of a head-start.

I’ve had many years teaching experience in schools, but I prefer the fun of small groups here at Lakeview. As a side-line, I speak at the Parent Centre “Baby New” courses for new mothers.

On a personal note, my husband passed away suddenly eight years ago and left me with our two daughters to raise. My girls, Gemma and Stephanie are now 21 and 18. “Keep life simple” is my motto.

I think Lakeview Kindergarten is a great early childhood centre where the children are challenged and the standards are high for behaviour and education.
